she looked at me as if from very far away
she was even squinting
life isn't some very trendy play i muttered
(i knew she couldn't hear me from that far away)
she said "i can't believe you said that"
"i can't hear you from that far away" i replied

to which her eyes stopped squinting
and i stopped smiling
and dogs kept barking
